The Chi-Town native known as “Gold Haze” is back with another impactful 10 track project titled “When I Had Nothing, I Had Everything”. A beautifully composed album with the messages hitting home for a young man on a journey of growth, faith, and purpose.
Gold Haze is a talented artist that has collaborated with the best in Chicago but he also holds his own when it comes to the production side of the music. With the release of this brand new album Gold Haze also released a book that mirrors the album from the titled to the overall direction of the project.
In the middle of 2023 I wrote an article and highlighted the progress and growth of Gold Haze with his project titled “From Here on Out” a lyrical masterpiece that brings the listeners into the struggles and triumphs during his journey to who you see today.

“When I Had Nothing, I had Everything” is an ode to self, even during your darkest days if you look deep enough you will realize you have everything you need through God himself. That is a true testimony for those who have felt the pressure of pursuing something bigger than themselves while enduring what life brings along this journey.
A couple of notables from the project that really spoke to me are “Pressure Makes Diamonds”, “When You Had Nothing”, & “Purpose Over Pain”. Listening to the album from start to finish will show you that throughout the entire project Gold Haze gives you a cohesive transition throughout the entire project. hitting on topics that 95% of us in the world can relate to dealing with everyday life and struggles. With the credits in the production space being a mile long Gold Haze has made himself a well-known entity in the music industry, putting on for Chicago Illinois.
Faith is the foundation to succeed in any endeavor one might pursue in life. Faith in your gift, faith in the journey, faith in God to guide you along the way whether times are good or bad. “Faith is the Anchor” is a beautiful work of art that embodies just that. A couple of months ago I decided to rebrand myself and my brand, I have seen success, and I have seen failure, but my FAITH is what kept me grounded during those moments where some may say I lost it, while others believed I was just going through a storm. To me? it was a molding process not from man but orchestrated by God.
See Everything is spiritual, and sometimes we have to look at obstacles as just stepping stones during the process. There is beauty in the chaos, you just have to pay attention to it, once you have done that, grow, gain or strengthen your faith you will realize When I had nothing, I truly did have EVERYTHING!
