Gracious Sun 777

Talent in music is everywhere wether it's hip-hop or R&B or any other genre, I've been around the country and have met many artist but i always seem to find the dopest talent in New England. I met Gracious Sun 777 at a event in Boston where there was a plethora of dope talent from The Town in attendance, thanks to Sounds By Fabe for throwing a dope event. When it comes to rap I look for artist who stand out from the norm, one who isn't afraid to push behind the limits society puts upon creators. Gracious Sun pushes the envelope with his project titled “Torch Tape” which dropped back in 2020 a 7 track EP that brings you into the world of who Gracious is. Although I'm a lover of all genres of music, when it comes to rap, conscious rap is always where I find myself and 777 delivered that with his single “The Beginning of the End” where he talks about the corruption in the world, the youth being submerged in death and drugs, and depression. This one stood out to me because it gave me a Rap City type of vibe I could see this being performed in the basement with “Big Tigger” that's a throwback for you, that's my childhood I couldn't wait to watch rap city but that's the vibe I get from this record. Gracious sun 777 is originally from South Africa but now resides in New England very fitting for a young king coming up in music because as I've stated countless times before there's so much talent of there. Taking a step back into the Torch Tape a “New Car Smell Freestyle” is dope I had to go back and speak on this one because literally while I'm writing this it came on in my headphones which might be alignment Can you feel the Ambience?

Gracious Sun 777 welcome to The Creators Room I'm glad you are here and look forward to us getting to know you better let's get started.

Tell us a little bit about yourself, how u got started making music, and what influenced you

My name is Gracious Sun, I started rapping in middle school and eventually started recording in highschool. Growing up, hip-hop was a big part of my upbringing and influenced my way of life. My main influences are Nas, Lupe Fiasco, Outkast. I always gravitated towards more lyrical rappers which directly influenced my style

What is the message you want to send to you're audience through you're music?

The main message I want to send to my audience is to think for yourself. My music is a exploration of self, with every verse I peel back a layer of me. In doing so, I hope to inspire my audience to reflect on their own lives when they listen to my music.

How do u think you stand out in music from you're peers?

I stand out in music because I'm always me, there's only one Gracious Sun. I pull from a bunch of different influences and life experiences to create something that's original and fresh to me

What's new? Are you currently working on anything new?

I'm always working on music. Torch Tape series will be a Trilogy and SoundsByFabe and I already started working on the 3rd installment. I also have some other collaborative tapes with other local mcs and producers in the works

What advice would u give a young artist trying to make a name for themselves in music? Now that you have been in it for a lil time, what do u think u can bring different to Hip-hop?

Advice I will always give is to write and record as much as possible, the more reps you get the sharper you will be. I feel like I deliver high level lyrical rap in a way that's digestible and easy to listen to. I want to continue to do that through different style of production and continue to expand my range
